São Miguel
The largest and most populated. Ponta Delgada is the capital and ideal starting point. The twin calderas of Sete Cidades, the Furnas thermal springs and its electric-green lakes are breathtaking.
Ponta Delgada, the capital of São Miguel, is the ideal departure port: well-equipped marina, easy provisioning, direct flights from across Europe. It's where the Nerida Azores course begins — and often ends — a landmark between two worlds.
From the deck, the island presents a dramatic panorama. Volcanic relief rises sharply from the sea, and the calderas of Sete Cidades shimmer an almost unreal green. The first miles of sailing trace a rugged coastline exposed to the north-west Atlantic swell.
This is where everything starts. First tacks, first manoeuvres, first night at sea. Between São Miguel and the return, the crew will have crossed hundreds of Atlantic miles, learned to read the wind, stand night watches, and anchor in coves only a sailboat can reach.

Terceira
Its baroque capital Angra do Heroísmo is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Inside the island, Algar do Carvão reveals a spectacular underground volcanic chamber.
The golden islandSanta Maria
The oldest geologically and the sunniest. White sand beaches (Praia Formosa), amber cliffs and terraced vineyards. An unexpected Mediterranean flavour in the heart of the Atlantic.
The white islandGraciosa
The flattest and most peaceful of the archipelago. Windmills, vineyards and the Furna do Enxofre — a volcanic cave housing an underground lake — give it a timeless charm.
