Who we are

The Project

A sailing school born of friendship, adventure and a shared obsession with the Atlantic.

The story

Where it all began

Nerida was born from a group of friends united by a love of sailing, wild nature and open oceans — whose intertwined destinies found each other on the Atlantic. Between wonder and late-night rum punches, imaginations soared and conversations stretched until dawn: what if we took dreamers aboard?

What if we offered a real human adventure — learning the ocean in all its moods, sailing aboard a live-aboard monohull, exploring the most preserved corners of the Atlantic archipelagos, and encountering marine wildlife with a small team of passionate sailors?

Julie and Vincent, captains of Mangareva scouting kite and surf spots in the Caribbean, offered the boat. Etienne and César, skippers and sailing instructors on a racing transatlantic, would lead the courses. Laura, a boat hitchhiker between surf trips and humanitarian missions, took charge of the admin. The seed was planted, and a year later the dream became reality — Nerida sailing school was launched.

What drives us

Our values

The Ocean

The name Nerida honours the Nereids — sea nymphs in Greek mythology, daughters of Nereus and the Oceanid Doris. They embody every state of the sea: from absolute calm to the most violent storm. Protectors of sailors on their voyages, but implacable with those who offend them.

Community

We believe the best learning happens in small groups. Sharing a sailboat for 10 days creates bonds that last well beyond disembarkation. Nerida is as much a human adventure as a nautical one.

Respect

The ocean demands humility and respect — from the marine life you encounter to the volcanic landscapes where you anchor. We sail lightly, leave no trace, and return each time filled with wonder.

"Are you ready to live an adventure that is both introspective and collective — at the heart of nature and the elements, between action and contemplation?"
