Crewed passages

Join Mangareva's crew for a long-distance ocean passage. Not a course — an expedition.

The concept

A passage, not a lesson

A crewed passage means joining Mangareva for an offshore crossing — Canaries to Azores, Atlantic route, port-to-port leg. The goal is simple: leave one place, arrive at another.

Unlike sailing courses, the focus is not on formal instruction. You take a full active role on board — night watches, weather, routing decisions, offshore manoeuvres. A raw, intense experience with no hand-holding.

What you'll experience

Night watches

Helm in hand under the stars, course held, black sea. The most memorable experience of any crossing.

Weather & routing

Reading weather windows, choosing the route, adapting in real time. Navigation is a team decision.

Offshore sailing

Several days without a port, far from the coast. Ship's instruments, AIS, VHF — all in real conditions.

Life on board

Shared meals, alternating watches, sea fellowship. A crew that bonds passage after passage.
